Work with me

More from your people, without burning them out.

Twenty years as a senior HR leader. An athlete who still competes. The same pattern appears in both worlds. The ones who win are the ones who recover best.

  • Every engagement starts with the Drift Index
  • Half day, full day, in person or remote

Where this came from

I had stamina. I had resilience. I was cognitively full.

It did not arrive as a crisis. It arrived as a slow change in how I was coping. Multiple demands, and me handling them differently from usual. I stopped enjoying work I had always enjoyed. I fell behind on the protocols I had once treated as non negotiable. I wanted to socialise less and be alone more, and then spent that time getting ahead rather than recovering. I was not thinking as clearly, and I knew it.

What I was not short of was capacity. I could keep going for a long time. That is exactly what made it hard to see. Nothing was failing, so nothing looked wrong.

I did the obvious things first. I reassessed my protocols, changed my working pattern, went back to the routines that had worked before, then tried new ones when those did not hold. Some of it helped for a while. None of it dealt with the cause, because I was still treating it as a personal discipline problem.

Then I started seeing it in other people. Senior people. The same sequence every time. A high performer slips below their own standard. Their confidence erodes. Their personality goes quiet, and the thing that made them good at the job becomes the first thing to disappear. Less human interaction, head down, straight to task. Suffering, and nobody naming it.

That is the pattern I built Inspired Intentions to change. Workplaces are becoming more pressured, and the instinct under pressure is to put task ahead of people. The evidence says that is backwards.

What eventually shifted it was building the thing I had needed. Naming the five levers, measuring them honestly and then working on the one that was costing me most rather than trying to fix everything at once. The reset was not dramatic. It was specific. Clarity came back first, then the enjoyment, then the appetite for hard problems.

I am not describing a slower life. I still work hard and I still want to be cognitively stretched, because that is where I am at my best and where I am happiest. What is different now is that the stretch no longer costs me everything around it. There is harmony between the work and the life it sits inside, and there is fulfilment in both. That is what I want for the people I work with, and it is why the diagnostic always comes first.

180 teams

When Google spent two years studying what made its teams effective, analysing 180 teams against more than 250 attributes, the strongest predictor was not talent, seniority or experience. It was psychological safety, whether people felt able to speak up without fear. How a team worked together mattered more than who was on it.

That is the whole argument. Under pressure, the human conditions are the first thing cut and the last thing measured, and they are the thing performance actually rests on. The Drift Index exists to make those conditions visible before the drift costs you someone good.

Three ways in

One diagnostic. Three ways I close the drift.

The starting point is always the same. What changes is the shape of the work that follows.

01  For teams

Human performance programmes

A tailored programme built around your team's Drift Index data. Every attendee takes the diagnostic first, so the day addresses what is actually failing rather than what is assumed to be. Built around resilience, sustained pressure and unlocking potential, and adapted to the audience, whether that is analysts, designers, buyers or specialists. Series 1 and Series 2 are available, each building on the last.

  • Building psychological safety and team trust
  • Managing energy rather than time
  • Resilience and recovery under sustained pressure
  • Leading with clarity when everything is moving

Right for you if your people are working hard but running on empty, and you want to give them something tangible they will still be using on Monday.

02  For leaders

Leadership coaching

One to one coaching for managers and senior leaders, grounded in the performance science behind the Drift Index. We work on what is getting in the way: the patterns, the assumptions and the blind spots that are hard to see from the inside. Structured and evidence based, focused on sustainable output rather than surface technique. It often follows a team programme, because by then you already know your performance picture and coaching is the space to work through it.

Right for you if you are performing well on paper but you know something needs to shift in how you lead, and you want data and a structured path rather than only a conversation.

Why now

Human performance is organisational performance.

Hybrid working, always on culture, economic pressure and the arrival of AI have moved this out of the background. It is a leadership issue, a retention issue and a performance issue.

  • Your best people are leaving and citing burnout or lack of support.
  • Absence is rising and the causes are not purely physical.
  • Leaders are struggling to hold teams through sustained pressure.
  • Engagement is falling despite investment everywhere else.
  • You know wellbeing matters but the current approach is not landing.
  • Your board is asking questions about people risk you cannot yet answer.

How it works

From conversation to lasting impact.

  1. Diagnose

Your team takes the Drift Index. I see the aggregate drift pattern before we begin, so nothing is guesswork.

  2. Design

I build the work around your actual data rather than an off the shelf framework.

  3. Deliver

Workshops, coaching or a keynote, delivered with energy, honesty and practical grounding.

  4. Embed

We re-measure and embed what has changed. The impact does not end when the session does.

It has been a pleasure and a privilege to be coached by Hayley. Our CEO has seen a difference and the function I lead is now thriving. The icing on the cake is the personal impact, being happier and in control, with clarity on my strengths.
